Scott Waites has won the BDO World Darts Championship final after beating Tony O’Shea, 7 sets to 1 at the Lakeside Country Club.
The Final was the 36th Championship organised by the British Darts Organisation, with Scott Waites receiving £100,000 and John O’Shea £30,000 respectively.
With the stage set at Lakeside, with fans coming to the final in fancy dress or coming for the experience.
Both Tony O’Shea and Scott Waites were eager to start the match flying, however it was Scott Waites who started very brightly by taking the first 5 sets, before Tony O’Shea pulled one back before the break.
During the break, Martin Adams stated that he thought that Tony O’Shea needs to “loosen up and relax” if he had any chance of getting back into the 2013 BDO World Darts Championship Final.
As the match progressed, Tony O’Shea became more and more frustrated at each arrow as Scott Waites pulled away with the match.
